Milled twice by hand and cured for over 5 months in our temperature regulated stone vaulted rooms. The extra milling and long drying time ensure all the water and air bubbles are extracted from the soap which give it an extra lather, softness and makes it last much longer than traditional soaps.

The method used to make Oleya soaps has been passed down by ancient generations in the Levant region and is free of any toxins or harsh chemicals that can irritate the skin. The whole process has been perfected throughout the years, and remains completely handmade.

Soaps are generally made using one of two different methods; Hot or Cold Saponification. Oleya uses the environmentally friendly cold method as it guarantees that the purity of the essential oils stays intact. It also preserves the olive oil properties; avoiding the use of heat in the process allows the soaps to maintain the naturally occurring concentration of omega oils, antioxidants and vitamins A & E.

Lavender comes from the Latin root “lavare,” which literally means “to wash.” The earliest recorded use of lavender dates back to ancient Egypt. Lavender is a perennial herb plant and it produces long stems with buds and blooms. It has a wonderful and aromatic smell.
