Oleya Soaps are handmade honoring the methods of our ancestors in the historic city of Sidon, where soap making has been a tradition since the 13th century.
Our founder’s mission is to bring this rich heritage to life and share the unique savoir-faire of the Levantine area.
The Mediterranean is home to many ancient and exceptional cultures, and olive oil is at the center of many. Often used by our ancestors to wash and bathe, olive oil is a natural antioxidant that has hypoallergenic and anti microbial properties.
Unlike many other natural soap brands, Oleya Soap is committed to only using cold pressed Virgin Olive Oil to ensure the highest quality possible in the end product. In addition to olive oil, our process only uses 3 ingredients: refined essential oils, water, and lye. While lye is used in the saponification process, no lye remains in our finished products.
To stay true to our culture and maximize the benefits, we use the traditional and eco-friendly cold saponification process to create our soaps. This method was perfected over the years ensures that no heat is introduced to the process, allowing vitamins A and E to remain active in the final product.
Oleya Soaps are milled twice by hand and cured for over 5 months in our temperature regulated stone vaulted rooms. The extra milling and long drying time ensure all the water and air bubbles are extracted from the soap which give it extra lather, softness and makes it last much longer than other bar soaps.
Our soap-making process is cruelty-free, ethical, and eco-friendly and it results in soaps that are pure, fragrant, and healthy. We guarantee that Oleya products will never contain any harmful chemicals or additives.
